Bainbridge Technologies recently took a trip to K’gari Fraser Island to volunteer time for the 4WD QLD K’gari Fraser Island Clean Up.

Bainbridge Technologies are proud to sponsors of this great initiative, the event showcases Four Wheel Drive Queensland’s drive to promote responsible use of the environment and support events that keep the public land in a pristine condition.

The clean-up event is held over a weekend in May where Four Wheel Drive Queensland affiliated clubs and their members volunteer their time to clean and weed the World Heritage Island. This year eight hundred 4WD club members and sponsors have volunteered to participate in the clean-up, covering 120 kilometres of beach and bush.

Ocean Crusaders who specialise in cleaning waterways and remote islands were involved in the clean up to capture data on the rubbish collected over the weekend. Final collection statistics were published, with a staggering 1259 bags of rubbish collected equating to 7,059kg of waste.

We took the opportunity to explore the island and camp over three nights, putting the Baintech gear to the test! You can see why so many locals and international visitors flock to the island, it’s a 4WDers paradise.
